On 28 September, Silk Hospitality’s Park Hotel was recognised for its hospitality service and outstanding contribution against the spread of COVID-19 with an award from the Georgian National Tourism Administration. As one of the very first hotels in Georgia to welcome quarantining guests in early 2020, the Park Hotel in Tbilisi has shown diligence and an unparalleled dedication in protecting its guests, staff and wider community.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Silk Hospitality has ensured that guests and employees have felt safe across all hotels in our portfolio. Safety measures such as providing same-day in-house PCR testing and maintaining the highest cleaning standards have been implemented to help stop the spread of the virus.
While the past 18 months have been challenging, staff members at the Park Hotel, led by CEO Jordi Kuijt, have displayed incredible energy and resourcefulness in keeping their services safe and open for the public. Looking forward, as travel restrictions loosen and cases decrease, there is hope that Georgia’s hospitality sector may welcome more visitors to its beautiful country than ever before.
Over the years, the Georgian National Tourism Administration has worked to position Georgia on the international tourism map. In their mission to ensure sustainable tourism development, the GNTA has recognised the leading companies and initiatives which are driving Georgia’s hospitality sector forward.
