As Caucasus Build 2019 takes place in Tbilisi this week, at Silk Road Group we are reflecting on the construction sector’s bright future in Georgia as well as our role in furthering it. Since 2006, SRG’s Real Estate arm has been instrumental in bringing high quality residential and commercial developments to Georgia, through partnerships with brands such as Radisson
Between 2014 and 2017, the construction sector was the fastest growing of Georgia’s economy, benefiting from substantial foreign investment and fueled by increasing tourism sector and need for replacement of old residential apartments. Since then, construction remains steady and demand continues to grow, thanks both to locals and foreigners, particularly in the capital city and the seaside town of Batumi.
It is in Batumi, the ‘Pearl of the Black Sea’, that the Silk Road Group now has it flagship construction project. The early 20th century saw many European architects visit the city, building many of Batumi’s most distinctive buildings. This innovative tendency continues to this day, as architects draw inspiration from Batumi’s natural beauty and colourful past. Our Batumi Riviera site is situated between the sea and the old city, and is spread across nine hectares, incorporating renovated marina, residential blocks, luxury hotels, convention centre, casino and yacht club.
At Caucasus Build over 4,000 attendees from the building industry come together to meet and discuss our shared goal – the continued success and growth of construction and real estate development in Georgia.
