The SRG is engaged in the transportation and trading of crude oil and petroleum products from Azerbaijan and the Central Asian states of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan to the Georgian Black Sea ports of Batumi and Poti as well as Iran and Afghanistan. We also forward container cargoes from the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea ports of Georgia to the Caspian and Central Asian regions.
Driven by the challenging needs of its customers and the emergence of new market opportunities, the Silk Road Group is constantly developing new routes and services. Since 2002 the Silk Road Group has been delivering crude oil and petroleum products to the Rey and Bandar Abbas terminals in Iran and since 2004 has been transporting oil product to Afghanistan. Since 2009 SRG has worked as a major transportation partner for various principle contractors in the supplying of jet A-1 aviation fuel and container cargoes to the Joint Forces in Afghanistan.
The Silk Road Group has designed and implemented its own computer-based tracking system, which provides the logistics department and its customers with up-to-date information about each batch of goods being transported. The data input is controlled by Silk Road Group’s staff, feeding it in real time from different locations along the transportation routes.
If required, customers can obtain instant information on the whereabouts of their cargo by accessing the platform online. The system makes it possible to coordinate logistics across the region from any office in the world in order to pinpoint the movements of cars. The logistics department is able to react to unexpected delays and duly communicate changes in lifting schedules and transshipment throughout the entire region.
Since 2003, the Silk Road Group has been involved in the sourcing of oil products from fields and refineries in the Caspian and Central Asian region.
The Silk Road Group has regional partners with significant experience in trading crude oil and oil products on international markets.
